Clothing The Gaps was founded by Laura Thompson (Gunditjmara) and Sarah Sheridan (non-Indigenous), who met while working at the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service in 2014. Their shared passion for promoting health and wellbeing in Aboriginal communities led them to launch Spark Health Australia in 2018, focusing on Aboriginal community engagement in health.

Through their work, they saw an opportunity to create a unique platform — a social enterprise that combined fashion with purpose. The success of their merchandise brand, Spark Merch, led to the formation of Clothing The Gaps in 2019. Laura, Sarah, and their team focus on empowering Aboriginal communities, using the proceeds from their business to advocate for social change and elevate Aboriginal voices.
